I’ve bought headphones Sony WH 1000-XM5 and was looking forward to noise cancelling feature during creating code 🙂. There was a big disappointment after first connection to my Ubuntu. After I’ve moved with mouse, I heard weird noise ( buzz, rustle ? ) .
Laptop configuration
To provide more details about my setup, I have a DELL laptop connected to a Logitech keyboard ERGO K860 and also a Logitech MX Anywhere 3 mouse.
The situation was that the sound quality was fine until I moved the mouse. I also noticed that when I connect the mouse to the PC via a cable, the issue does not occur.
Solution
The solution was to install application pavucontrol
sudo apt install pavucontrolThen, after running newly installed app
and moved to section
Configuration > ... Codec
And in section for configuration of my headphones “Codec” I’ve changed configuration from “High Quality” to “Mobile Quality”. And my issues were gone.
